Restricted & Regulated Items Policy

This policy explains which items may be listed on Bee Market and which items require additional compliance with UK regulations.

Bee Market is a specialised marketplace for beekeeping and bee-related products. All listings must be directly related to bees, beekeeping, or bee-derived products.

Listings that are unrelated to beekeeping (for example general electronics, clothing, unrelated food products, or household goods) are not permitted on the platform.

1) Allowed Bee-Related Categories

Items listed on Bee Market must fall into one of the following beekeeping-related categories:

• Honey and honeycomb products
• Bee colonies, nucleus colonies, and queens
• Beekeeping equipment and hive components
• Used or refurbished beehives and hive parts
• Bee-derived food products (e.g. bee pollen, royal jelly)
• Beeswax and beeswax products
• Beekeeping tools and accessories
• Protective clothing used for beekeeping
• Educational materials related to beekeeping

2) Bee-Derived Food Products

Bee-derived foods such as honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, and similar edible products must comply with UK food safety and labelling laws.

• Sellers must comply with UK food hygiene regulations.
• Food businesses must register with their local authority.
• Labels must include ingredients, allergens, durability dates, and business contact details.
• Medicinal claims must not be made unless legally authorised.

3) Beeswax Cosmetics & Topical Products

Products such as beeswax balms, creams, lip balms, and other topical items must comply with UK cosmetic safety regulations.

• Ingredients must be clearly listed.
• Expiry or durability information must be provided.
• Products must not make unauthorised medicinal claims.

4) Beekeeping Equipment

Equipment used in beekeeping may be listed provided it is safe, accurately described, and suitable for its intended purpose.

• Electrical equipment must meet applicable UK safety standards.
• Used equipment must clearly state its condition.
• Safety warnings should be included where relevant.

5) Chemicals & Treatments

Some products used in beekeeping (for example mite treatments) may be regulated chemicals. These products must comply with UK regulatory requirements.

• Only legally permitted treatments may be listed.
• Product labels and safety information must be accurate.
• Illegal or restricted chemicals are prohibited.

6) Enforcement

Bee Market may remove listings, suspend accounts, or take other enforcement actions if items do not comply with this policy or applicable laws.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring their listings comply with UK law and Bee Market policies at all times.

Bee Market may update this policy as regulations or platform rules change.
